No, I would not recommend this to a friend
the thermometer developed condensation the first week it was in my pool.It never dried out . I had to throw it away. Last week the other thermometer in my spa also developed condensation , Again it never dried out. Had to throw that one away also.

This unit is nice because it is dual function. The temperature reading seemed a little low when compared to an analog thermometer. The unit is small and convenient. I just drop it into my skimmer box and leave it there. The unit didnt keep out the moisture and water drops collected on the face of the digital readout. Kept accurate time though. Probably wouldnt buy this again
