Cover is concave and so holds rain water leaving stain when dry.
The interior bottom is convex and therefore the existing holes do not drain any excess moisture.

We bought this to hold our chair cushions out by the patio. The trunk is huge, and so far water tight. It looks nice, and the hydraulic hinges on the lid are a great quality. My only complaint is that the lid popped off where it connects into the trunk right after we got it and wouldn't go back in. I was able to fix it by putting a screw through the side into the lid. No way for me to know if this was just a rare defect on my trunk or if the lid is poorly designed.
